4/13/16: Large Damaging Hail in Northern San Antonio, TX Metro Area

4/12/16, 10:52 pm EST: A large, damaging hail event is occurring at this time in the Northern portions of the San Antonio metro area.  The hardest hit areas are shown in red and orange on the below screenshot from the StormIntellegence hail swath map:

The hardest hit areas with hail of 1.5 inch or larger include the following zip codes:

78216
78213
78230
78240
78249
78254
78023

Preliminary estimates indicate that approximately 75,000 single family homes were impacted by hail of at least 1.5 inch and as large as 3.0 inches in diameter in the above specified areas.

Please note this event is still underway in northeast parts of the San Antonio Metro area and additional impacts will occur in these areas.
